The Met Gala 2012 is one of the world’s greatest red carpet events. Many celebs come prepared to take risks in front of dozens of cameras, a host of fashion designers and models. Some of those risks are well worth it while some make only for great gossip for the blogs, such as Beyonce’s choice of a high drama sheer Givenchy gown and Sarah Jessica Parker’s curtain call Valentino look.
The net is buzzing about Beyonce’s ass-out dress, calling it a definite miss, while many put Sarah Jessica Parker’s flower patch dress at the top of the “Best Dressed” list. I’m so confused with how this industry operates. Had anyone else worn Beyonce’s dress would it have been so bad? Is it her new mommy image? Because Sarah Jessica’s flower patch dress and SHOES did not make the cut for best dressed in my book! She looked like she was wearing somebody’s curtain, and i can’t call this couture or vintage. I don’t know what this is!! What do you think?

Bring out your feminine side this spring and summer with your pick of floral jeans. You’ve done the floral shoes, tops, even maxi skirts/dresses, well how about pants or shorts. This fresh and interesting floral jeans is on the rise and catching everybody’s eyes. Many brands have been producing there own take on the trend. Celebs are already buying into the different looks and making their own statement. I’m not big on the pants, but i will be wearing my own pair of floral jean shorts soon. It’s chic and easy to style and it doesn’t require any extra accessorizing!
If you’re feeling fearful about how to wear the floral jeans trend, keep these tips in mind. There is no need to mix florals, one statement piece is enough! If you have on a bottom, don’t try to wear a pair of floral shoes too or worse a floral top! Floral jeans are perfect for pairing with neutrals and it is best to try to keep things solid up top. If you are petite go for smaller patterns, if you are tall and slender you can go for bigger and bolder patterns. Don’t be afraid to go flowery with this trend as there is no going wrong with any flower pattern you choose whether it be dull or bright, it is a perfect mix of feminine and edgy. Have fun with your floral jeans this season and shop for some trendy looks inside.
Stiletto Nail Designs are a hot new trend. The stiletto nail came alive on the runways of Ruffian, Jose Duran, Z by Zac Posen in 2011. It quickly popped up on the streets with many celebs like Fergie, Rihanna and Lady Gaga showing off their pointed talons. At first i wasn’t sure about the stiletto nails’ dangerously pointed style, until i realized i don’t have to wear them long enough to take out someone’s jugular.
There is a wrong and right way to approach this trend, no half stepping. You have to go for the claws. It has an alluring seductress look to it and they are almost always sexy. I could never go over an inch, less is more for me but i sure love them uber pointy. Stiletto nail designs can be in a dagger/almond shape or a spike shape.
Go check out some of my stiletto nail tips below and see some great ideas for your stilleto nail designs from the talented @nailsbyregina . I’ll be doing it #majah for my summer vacay…
