Beyonce in African-Inspired L’Officiel Photo Shoot

French magazine, L’Officiel, will celebrate its 90th birthday by having Beyonce Knowles grace their March 2011 cover. The diva agreed to pose for an incredible “African Queen” themed photo shoot in which she strikes a pose in an animal-print jacket and face paint in tribute to African musician/activist, Fela Kuti. Beyonce voluntarily allowed her skin to be darkened, I’m sure many people will probably find this offensive. The magazine called it a return to the singer’s African roots. I guess she wasn’t “black” enough!

Beyonce  was featured in African-inspired dresses and jewelry by Gucci, Azzedine Alaia, Fendi, Pucci, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Rodarte, Dolce & Gabbana, Cartier, and Lanvin. Her mom, Tina Knowles, also created a one-of-a-kind couture piece for the shoot! See gallery…
