Textured nail polish is so this year! It seems these days, plain old nail polish is just not cool enough. Nail companies are making polishes with textures that mimic all sorts of other materials and they seem to be the new craze. We saw caviar nails, lace, crackle, shatter, velvet, feathers, crystal encrusted, saran wrap nails all have their moment in the spot light. Now we have some new emerging textured nail polish trends hitting the streets, and they are a lot cheaper and more convenient than those crystal studded nails we loved or even minx .
The polishes of Orly’s Plastix collection dry to a pleather-like finish, making nails look as though they’ve been coated in rubber. Illamasqua also started selling ten shades of their new “rubber” polish on sephora.com. The rubber polish comes in a super intense collection of six neon colors with a textured twist. The polish was inspired by the color-coded specialties of dominatrix boots worn by girls in 1920s Berlin, and so the formula dries into a matte, rubber like finish just like the Orly’s Plastix collection. They’re also long-lasting and chip-resistant —have you tried it yet? I don’t even know what this feels like, but i can’t wait to find out.
What other cool textured nail polish is changing the game in nails?
