thigh high boots trend

Remember when thigh high boots were associated with strippers and party girls. There was nothing sophisticated about the look, but fashion has changed that. Higher than your average boot and potentially twice as sexy, the over-the-knee style is a must try for the fall/winter. There are new hot looks for thigh high boots, now you can be sophisticated and sexy at the same time. However do you want it? Check out some tips on how to shop for your next pair of thigh high boots then get some outfit inspiration before you take it to the streets.

There’s lots that’s new about the looks that were on the runways for the thigh high boots.  Designers took this ever-evolving trend  into new territory. Phillip Lim, BCBG Max Azria, Chanel and Prabal Gurung are some of the top innovators. Chanel gave their shoe boot a punk leaning, while Casadei for Prabal Gurung produced something of a buckle-fetish hybrid, the ultimate thigh-high statement of the season.

The Thigh High Shoe Boot

You know how your gladiator sandals were also your boots during spring? Well now your cutaway boots are also your shoes or shoe boots.

Sounds crazy, but this new hybrid style is what defines thigh highs lately and it is far more interesting. Designers have combined different looks, going crazy with cut outs and giving us the thigh high shoe-boot.

Classic Super Thigh Highs

Many of you might ask, why would anyone want to wear boots like they’re pants? If we can’t see where they stop , what’s the point of them, right?

Wrong, according to some of the hottest runway looks, it’s perfectly ok to have your hemline overlap with your boots. In fact, super thigh highs can become  a kind of substitute for socks/stockings/leather pants.

You have two options here: wear a skirt or dress that reaches your knees or below, or wear boots so tall they go above and beyond your entire thighs.
